Reporting crashes

If you’re reporting a crash please include as much information as possible, and include your dxdiag and config.lua. Also script log and session log are very useful to us if you have the game set up to produce these.

To get you dxdiag, you need to do the following:

Windows 7

  1. Click on, "Start Button".
  2. Click on, "Run".
  3. In the pop-up window enter dxdiag and hit ok.
  4. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
  5. Click on, "Save all information".

Windows 8

  • Click the Start button
  • Type dxdiag in the Search box, and then press ENTER.
  • The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
  • Click on, "Save all information".

To get your session and script logs, you need to do the following:

  • In Steam, go to the library of games
  • Find Carmageddon: Reincarnation
  • Right click and select Properties
  • In the “General” tab, select “Set Launch options…”
  • Type -dumplogs
  • Select “Ok”

Next time you play Carmageddon: Reincarnation, an additional folder will be created called DIAGNOSTICS which will contain script and session logs. These get written each time you play. To stop logs from being generated, repeat the steps above, but delete “-dumplogs” from the launch options. To find the DIAGNOSTICS folder, do the following:

  • In Steam, go to the library of games
  • Find Carmageddon: Reincarnation
  • Right click and select Properties
  • Select the “Local Files” tab
  • Select “Browse local files”

Crashing in full screen can cause the crash message to appear behind the game
